Fujina Pottery
This kiln was opened at the end of the Edo Era(1603-1867) by Yojibemuramasa Funaki. From the 19th century, pictures were painted in gold on the products - a trend begun by Tokuyu Fujina. These are popular not just in Japan but also abroad. From around 1926 onwards the "Soetsu Yanagi crafts movement" had a great influence on potters throughout the prefecture.
